Brivo and Eagle Eye Network Summit 2019: What We Found Out for You

Rudy Grippo • Apr 28, 2023

In November 2019, we attended the second Brivo and Eagle Eye Network Summit in Austin, Texas. This is now becoming an annual chance to connect with fellow Brivo and Eagle Eye (EEN) partners and listen to some top security industry thought-leaders.

Although Brivo and Eagle Eye Networks are separate entities, they share common ownership and have been building integrations between both platforms for over four years now. This year’s roadmap announcements didn’t disappoint; users will soon benefit from the improvements being made as these two companies drive to make the systems more user-friendly.

Summit 2019 Announcements: What you need to know

1. Another cloud-based partnership:

Alula Customers have been asking, and they listened. We have platforms for access control and video security, what about intruder alarms? Well, welcome to Alula.
Alula is the award-winning inventors of the BAT-Connect alarm communicator and the Connect+ intrusion and automation platform. Customers of Alula will be able to arm and disarm their Alula-enabled intrusion systems from within the Brivo Onair web and mobile apps, available on iOS and Android.
In a press release, and mentioned at the summit, the Brivo CEO said: “This as an important extension of our platform to provide simply better security to our customers, with an integration that leaves all the technical details to us so that integrators can install and configure both systems quickly in the field,” said Steve Van Till, President, and CEO.

2. EEN and Brivo are Platforms

If you aren’t in the tech sector, this might not sound like a big deal. But it is, and here’s why.

Companies that build tech products, such as
Brivo , want to make themselves as useful as possible to customers. Brivo and EEN are already ahead of the game because one of the announcements is that cloud-based security systems account for 20% of the market.

Cloud-based security, which is something we have advocated for a long time, is going mainstream. When a company announces its products are evolving to the ‘platform’ stage, it means they are committed to creating even more valuable features and services for clients.

Expect more announcements down the road, as new services, features and solutions are launched, fully integrated with existing services, and partner solutions, such as
EEN and Alula .

3. EEN offering more to record and keep transactions on video

When it comes to video surveillance recordings, some are more important than others.

For example, in professional service or real estate companies, the final stage of agreeing, closing and signing a deal could be worth millions. Wouldn’t it be useful if there was a recording of each transaction that could be stored for years, in case anything ever went to court?

With the Eagle Eye Contract Vault, long-term memory is provided to archive important transactions (audio and video). Timeshare companies are already using this to record their closing negotiations with their clients.

Other features EEN announced include Eagle Eye Camera Manager, which means videos can be connected to the cloud without a bridge, making them easier to install. Also, with EE Cloud Video Replicator, organizations can include a copy of locally stored surveillance videos in the cloud, making them more secure, valuable, and useful in the long-term.

4. Recent Brivo innovations

We were also present for a talk announcing several new innovations that are helpful to customers with Brivo products:
  • Bot detection on the newer 6000 and 300 control panels (Cybercriminals often use Bots to probe for weaknesses in anything connected to the Internet, so a detection system will reduce the possibility of cyberattacks)
  • The Mobile Pass app now includes the option to upload a picture of the customer (making them more useful when entering lobbies)
  • Mobile Pass also includes two-factor authentication , either through facial recognition or a fingerprint
  • Brivo Onair now includes a remote button connection , which means it can be locked-down remotely
  • Brivo Visitor was announced , which is a visitor management system for busy lobbies that integrated with Brivo Onair, and includes three easy to use workflows: Visitor Sign-in/Out, Arrival Notifications, and a Help Request
  • Other announcements included an integration with G-Suite, Alula , and new products coming soon, such as OnAir Plus that should be useful for larger companies and organizations with more complex security needs.

It was also interesting to see that Brivo is investing in machine learning, which we talked about in this article.

The sole purpose of educational facilities should be to create a favorable atmosphere for learning. To do this, a solid foundation of security must be established, which can be done by installing a thorough security system for campuses and schools from reputable school security companies.

Financial sector firms have stricter and more complicated security requirements than almost every other sector. Regulators place more stringent burdens on financial companies. Customers expect nothing less than the best.
